The Nomadic Educator Store

As teachers, we often find ourselves without the time to build lessons from scratch. This store aims to share a range of materials to support anyone without the luxury of time! In an exceedingly busy profession, we need to band together to support each other. Enjoy the shop and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or issues. I'm always happy to clarify anything or make changes where needbe.

Year 4 First Day Back: Rules and Routines

(0)
L.O: To establish clear classroom rules and routines and discuss our place in the class. This is lesson which I use at the start of every year to outline rules and routines to the new class. The lesson also focusses on the idea of ‘We All Belong Here’ and children make their own jigsaw piece which when put together can form a class display which can stay up for the whole year as a reminder of their place in the class. Through The Nomadic Educator Store, our objective is to develop quality planning for our classrooms and to share our contributions to (one of) the busiest parts of a teacher’s schedule for a reasonable price. We welcome feedback and are very responsive to any feedback and/or requests. Please note: Original files have been provided in SmartNote Notebook format. If the file isn’t compatible for you, please contact me so that I can reformat into another format (e.g. PowerPoint or PDF).

This is lesson from an Autumn unit of work which was designed to establish clear boundaries, routines and rules. It also seeks to discuss the school vision and values with children and encourages them to engage with them and think about how they can demonstrate these principles throughout the year.
